LOMA LINDA VA
The San Marino Chapter, NSDAR, supports the Loma Linda VA with clothing and supplies when needed. In the photo below, we supported the VA's Juliet Women's Clinic and their annual baby shower for new Veteran moms and dads. Chapter members purchases diaper backpacks, wipes, blankets, diapers and other baby essentials, then assemble them into gifts to give to the expecting parents.
Members of our chapter support the DAR's American History Essay Contest by reading and judging essays submitted by local students in grades 5-8. We also support the Patriots of the American Revolution High School Essay Contest by reading and judging essays submitted in high school. Essays are due annually in November to our San Marino Chapter, NSDAR, judges, who then forward the best essays for competition by District judges. We are very proud to announce that in 2024, San Marino's submissions to the District were selected as FIRST place winners in 6th grade and 7th grade! The winners receive monetary awards and certificates at a ceremony performed at the California State Society DAR Headquarters in Glendora. Their essays are then forwarded to the state judges for competition at the state level.
